Obituary of Giovanna Maggiore

Giovanna Maggiore , age 91, passed away March 11th, 2020. She was the beloved mother of Frank Maggiore and his wife Deborah, Guy Maggiore and his wife Joanne, Grandmother of Joseph, Frank, and Amanda, and Great Grandmother of Gianluca, Gabrial, and Mason. She was the wife of Joseph Maggiore(deceased), and sister of Pino, Nino, Gaetano, Antonina, Maria, Beatrice, Rachel, Salvatore and Saro. Giovanna loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them on holidays, spending all hours of the nights to prepare special meals for the family. We will especially miss her delicious sauce, meatballs, egg balls, meat stuffing. She was a dress maker since the age of 16, often making special dresses for high end celebrities, and was part of the team who put together a few dresses for president's wives. She sacrificed a lot for her family, getting up at 5am and taking trains to get to work in Manhattan by 9. She did this for 30 years while making sure her children got off to school on time and working overtime to provide for her family's future. Funeral from Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Avenue, on Monday departing at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Rita R.C. Church at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow in Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Sunday, 3/15/2020, from 2:00-4:00PM and from 7:00 -9:00PM.
