Obituary of Donald A. Farrell

Donald A. Farrell, age 91, passed away on March 19, 2020. He was the beloved husband of his wife Mary of 66 years, four children William (Marianne), Barbara (Kenneth), James (Lauren), Patricia (Dennis Murphy) and four grandchildren, Thomas (Erin), Kaitlin, Christina and Douglas (Courtney). Don, a native Staten Islander and long- time resident of Willowbrook, attended St. Peter's Boys High School and graduated from the University of Georgia where he met and married his wife. He joined the Army during the Korean War. Don was a custom carpet salesman for V'Soske Lord & Adams in NYC. Retired in 1993, he enjoyed traveling and dining out. He was an avid animal lover, die hard Giants football fan, loved boating and spending time with his family at the Jersey seashore. He was an active member in the community and belonged to the following organizations: Staten Island Sail & Power Squadron (SIPS), Richmond County Yacht Club, AARP Willowbrook Chapter, Staten Island Yacht Club, Lavallette Yacht Club, Holy Name Society of Holy Family Church and Ancient Order of Hibernians. Mindful of the health and safety of all loved ones during these turbulent times, the funeral services will be deferred to a later date. Our family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations to be made to a charity of your choosing in Don's memory.
