I remember lsrael as a no nonsense man, strong and gentle. He and Carmen were wonderful at hosting and welcoming very one who visited. He had a great ear for music. He was always ready to lend a hand. May he rest in peace.

Dear Israel, thank you for welcoming me into your home. I enjoyed your stories, your music, and most of all, I cherish having gotten to know what a genuine good hearted person you are. The image of you in the hallway waiting for us to arrive, and then walking us to the elevator when we left is pleasantly etched in my memory. You are very special to Sylvia and Tatin, and now special to me too. My deepest condolences go to Carmen, Janet, Roberto and the grandchildren.

My uncle Israel was one of a kind man. He was the patriot of the family and he did the job well He loved his family dearly. And would call us all the time to see how we were doing he love to sing & play the guitar to the music he loved most. But my fondes memories was when he would call me and spoke about my dad his brother in-law. He truly loved my dad and my dad love him too. But your journey here has ended and god call you to be with the rest of the family in the spiritual world. So go earn your wings for it’s a much better place. You will always be miss. Sleep in peace for we shall see each other again.

My Dear Uncle, thank you for being such a memorable part of my life. I will miss your laughter, your stories, your music. I loved visiting you at Christmas. You always greeted me with so much love. You made sure I enjoyed some of your delicious coquito. You played the guitar, and even sang your favorite songs. Then we listened to your stories and laughed so much. I didn't want to leave. Thank you for the wonderful times. You will truly be missed Uncle. May you rest in peace. Te recordaré siempre con mucho amor.

My grandfather was a man of many hats, he was a painter, a carpenter, a musician, a father, a husband, a grandfather. He excelled at each and every one of those things and there is no man that could have done it all like him. I still remember the days where he would try to teach me how to play guitar, or when he would pick me up from school. I still remember how his smile and eyes lit up the entire room. He raised a beautiful family and led a beautiful life, no matter what happened he did everything his way and was never afraid to offer advice and console others, he was the best of us through and through and never stopped fighting till the end, te amo mucho grandpa, I hope I make you proud.

Isreal was a thoughtful person and loved by everyone. I too am so thankful to have been accepted to the family. I remember asking Roberto are your parents going to like me and Roberto answer was “my dad likes you” so I guess I received the approval lol. I will always remember him singing while I would eat at the table lol. He would play his guitar with a smile on his face. I always felt Israel was the go to person if you needed a solution answered and he would think about it and would give you his response. He has raised 2 strong, smart and compassionate children and grandchildren. I have seen in these past years the love he shared with everyone. I am sending my condolences to Carmen, Janet, Roberto the grandchildren, his sisters and to all of his family members. He will truly be missed.

Thank you for being a second father to me, to all of your grandkids. I still remember growing up in that small apartment in Brooklyn, how you’d take us to school and pick us up, always making sure we ate and did our homework. Even then, you were so supportive of all of us moving to Staten Island together, because to you, home is wherever family is. Thank you for showing me how beautiful music is, how it heals us and takes us back to our memories in time. I will carry that with me forever. Te amaré por siempre. Sonreiré por ti, tal como lo hiciste por nosotros.

I will always remember him for loving to play his guitar and his singing all the time, you will be missed

I remember as a child going to Tio Israel’s house in PR. He would be sitting outside his balcony with his dog “Capi”or “Capitan” always with a smile and very protective of his family! Tio was always available to help those in need and until his last days he will not loose the opportunity to give us advice! you will live forever in our hearts praying that one day we will meet again!

Papi, thank you for teaching me not only to be a man but what it takes to be a Dad not only a father. Over the years you showed me the difference in that. Which I am trying to be for Franscesca, Roberto and Ricardo. A dad like you were. Love you always.

I remember having my uncle, Israel, over my house with others of the family along with my mom. Emilio made a fruit salad laced with vodka, unknown to him. After finishing the salad, he told his wife that it was the best fruit salad he ever had and asked her to refill the bowl with more which he thoroughly enjoyed. That made me so happy but I think he was even happier! Lol

Thank you for the love, support and example.
