Obituary of Philomena Bartiromo
Philomena (Phyllis) Bartiromo, passed away peacefully on December 7, at home with her family in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, after a brief struggle with Parkinson's.
Phyllis was born in Staten Island, NY, where she was raised and lived for most of her life. She later moved to Myrtle Beach in 2014 with her daughter and family. Phyllis was the daughter of the late Frank Paradiso and late Anna Uricchio. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and caring for young children. Phyllis graduated from McKee High School. For seven years, she worked as a caregiver at the Broadway YMCA in Staten Island. In her spare time she loved to sew, entertain loved ones at her home, and vacation with her family. Phyllis was united in marriage to Salvatore Bartiromo on October 29, 1960, in Staten Island. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1977. They were married for 17 blissful years and had two children.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter Joanne Bianchi and her husband, Michael, and son Michael Bartiromo. Also, she is survived by her ex-daughter-in-law Betty Lowe, grandsons Michael and Salvatore Bianchi, granddaughter Danielle Bianchi; seven sisters: Rosie Marciano and her late husband Santino, Angelina Russo and her husband, Frank, Antoinette Truncali and her husband, Paul, Frances Vicario and her late husband, Francis, Alice Castro and her husband, Robert, and Anne Magliola and her husband, Frank. In addition, she is survived by three brothers: Nicholas Paradiso and his late wife, Elizabeth, Joseph Paradiso, and Frank Paradiso, and his wife, Maryanne. Phyllis also leaves behind numerous living relatives and close friends.
