Louise C. Brogna, 95
Mother of two worked as Sales Manager, Ladies' High-End Apparel
Louise C. Brogna (Mezzacappa), devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on June 14, 2020 at age 95, of natural causes.
Born in Staten Island, Louise grew up in West Brighton with her siblings Minnie and Tony Mezzacappa. She is the daughter of the late Michele and Angelina Mezzacappa. She married her husband Ralph Brogna, from Tompkinsville in November 1946. They were married for 49 years before he passed away in May 1995.
She got her first job as a Buyer for Garber Brothers. She worked as a Sales Manager for ladies' high-end apparel from the late 50's to 1991 at Casual Corner and CC Larue. From 1992-1995 she worked in JCPenney in the Staten Island Mall. In the beginning of 1995 she retired from the clothing world to care for her ailing husband. After his passing she volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Priests for Life.
She loved to travel and one of the most memorable places she spoke about was her trip to Italy to visit her family and see the Pieta and the Vatican.
Louise is survived by her son Al and her daughter Angela Blanchard (husband Douglas) her grandchildren Andrea Bruno (husband Greg) and Elisa Lino, and her great grandchildren Gregory and Angelina Bruno and Anthony and Ariana Lino, who she doted on.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
