Obituary of William F. Galvin

William “Bud” Francis Galvin, a distinguished World War II Navy veteran and longtime resident of Staten Island, passed away on June 15, 2020, after having built and lived a full and loving life with his wife of more than 50 years, Marie Galvin (deceased). Bud was a beloved husband, dad of 5 children, grandfather (Pop) of 11, and great-grandfather of 12. Bud was known by family and friends as one of the most supportive people they had ever met, always making himself available and ready to help however he and his family could. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to New York - VA NY Harbor Healthcare System, which provided deep support and care for Bud for many years: https://www.volunteer.va.gov/apps/VolunteerNow/. The immediate family will be holding a private viewing at this time, and will be providing information for a fuller memorial service at a later time.
