Obituary of Scott M. Gambello

Scott M. Gambello, age 53, passed away on June 30th, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Karen E. Laquidara; loving father of Danielle Gambello, Samantha Gambello, and the late Brianna Gambello; as well as the loving step father of Andrew Agostino, and the late Heather Allen. Scott also recently gained the title of beloved grandfather after the birth of his two granddaughters, Isabella Agostino and Nicole Agostino. Scott was born in Manhattan and raised on Staten Island. He attended Monsignor Farrell High School. He went on to pursue a career in Culinary, and successfully maintained work as a chef at many restaurants within Staten Island. Scott had a passion for music as he was a very gifted and talented guitarist. He was part of a band known as "Festivus" for several years and continued to contribute to the band until the day of his passing. Scott married the love of his life, Karen in 1998 and shared 21 wonderful years of matrimony together. Both Scott and Karen had 2 children from previous relationships prior to their engagement. Together, they had their first daughter, Danielle, in 1999. Scott had a love for children, despite having two of his own grandkids, he maintained a grandfather figure to 4 children in which he called his "g babies". Scott was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at a young age and suffered from both heart and kidney complications as he got older. He also attended dialysis multiple times a week. As conditions worsened, Scott was not able to continue working in the restaurant business. During this time, he mainly focused on his family, his music, and his health. Scott will be dearly missed by many. Memorial visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Saturday, 7/11, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
