Obituary of Joseph "Jay" Rizzo
Our beloved Jay passed peacefully at home on July 24, 2020 surrounded by love and his family. He was such a huge force in all of our lives and it is unfathomable to understand how to live without him. He will be so deeply missed by all of us who were lucky to know him, love him and be loved by him. Jay was revolutionary in his quest to allow everyone and anyone to freely be themselves and be loved for who they truly were without prejudice. He touched and enriched every life that he came into contact with. He had the ability to make any person he was talking to feel important and valued; he was so deeply loved in return. Jay led his life not only to be faithful, but as the definition of a truly good person- he did countless good for others, he gave always, he personified generosity, and he loved beyond measure. He was a strong man with the biggest heart.
He was predeceased by his loving parents, John and Josephine. He is survived by his beloved husband Edward, and his dear brothers Anthony, John and his wife Mona, and Frank and his wife Joy. He was an adored and cherished Uncle, Great Uncle, and cousin. Jay had hundreds of friends who were truly an extension of his family. The loss is immeasurable, but so is the love left behind.
Services will be private. There will be a Memorial Mass/Celebration of Life at a later date. We know thinking of Jay will always make so many smile and loving him will always make so many happy.
