Obituary of Paul Jean-Baptiste Jr. In Loving Memory of Paul (Pj) Jean-Baptiste Jr 1985-2020 Paul (Pj as he is affectionately called) Jean-Baptiste Jr, age 35 died unexpectedly on August 13th 2020, in Queens, New-York City. He is survived by his beloved life partner Amanda Arevalo and the mother of his loving daughter, Joy Rodriguez. He Lives on in the hearts of his children; Imani and Romello Jean-Baptiste, his parents Paul Jean-Baptiste Sr and Tajana Jordan as well as his siblings Tiffany, Terrill, Tempest, and Nicholas Jean Baptiste, Treana and James Johnson Jr. Last but certainly not least, his dear, loving, and supportive grandmother Marie Therese Jean-Baptiste and his beloved Aunt Elsie Jean-Baptiste. He lives on in the hearts and minds of each and every single person whose life he had the opportunity to touch. Paul leaves behind a host of close friends, family members including many aunts, uncles, cousins, several nephews, and a niece. Pj attended PS 18, IS 27, and Susan Wagner High School in Staten Island New-York. Pj found his passion while attending Apex Technical School in Long Island City. Paul was the owner, operator and CEO of Rite Manuva Installations. At the time of his death, Pj was thriving in his industry. Pj was an asset to his team and had the highest regards for his great friend and a valuable mentor Randy Flores. Pj shared a close and special bond with each of his siblings, He felt in his heart he truly was the glue that held them all in place. Pj had a tremendous amount of positive influence on each sibling and always steered them in the right direction, because of Paul; Tiffany learned the true meaning of responsibility, Terrill learned how to become a hard worker, and a dedicated father, Tempest learned to not take anything for granted, and to enjoy your life to the fullest, he taught her you have to get comfortable with the uncomfortable, Treana learned how to respect her elders, Nicholas learned to seize every opportunity, and James also learned that hard work pays off in the long run because of the examples set forth by Pj. Pj was very proud of his cultural heritage. His father was born in Haiti and his mother was born in Trinidad. Pj identifies as a Haitian man even though he was born in the United States. He researched and learned of the Haitian history. Pj spoke Haitian creole as a youngster because his paternal great- grandmother was fluent only in the Haitian creole & French languages. Pj loved Haitian cooking and his grandmother would often cook his favorite meals for him during his visits. One of his favorite meals was conch, rice and beans and just about any food that his grandmother cooked especially for him. Paul truly cherished the value of family. Pj enjoyed spending quality time with his life partner Amanda and his children Imani and Romello. Pj often took the family on trips to Florida, Virginia, the local park & beach. Paul was a devoted father who wanted to make sure that he was present in his children's life, especially to share the important milestones. He brought Imani to her first day in school and made sure he attended the school's Valentine & Halloween dances. He was a hands-on dad to his children, Pj always went above and beyond for his children. Paul was the light of his children's eyes. Pj was a great man with a huge personality and a wonderful sense of humor. He always made people laugh. Pj overcame many obstacles; however, he improved his situation by his efforts, and by the support, and encouragement of his extended family system. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A private family viewing is scheduled for Monday August 24th at Matthew Funeral Home. Mr. Jean-Baptiste Jr. will be laid to rest at the Woodland Cemetery in Staten Island, New York.
