I will always remember you. You were the only person in all of my school years that actually made an impact on my life. My elementary school principal. I met so many teachers and principals after that and can’t even remember them. You will definitely be missed I will never stop thinking about you. I still remember so many conversations we had word for word and I graduated with you as my principal in 2009 !

This is so late but I this is so sad she was the best principle ever. She knew my brother since before he was born and always helped us out and was an amazing principle to me and him. It’s sad to hear she is gone but she is in a better place now RIP Mrs. Munoz ❤️

Ms Munoz! I can’t believe the world has lost such a bright light. The coolest principal I ever met! You were always so sweet to me. I appreciated how you took care and paid special attention to your students loving them as if they were your own children. I pray that you feel all the love that you gave to this world and know that you are so greatly missed. I also appreciate the care you gave to me during such a tough time in my life. Until we meet again sweet angel, Alicia

Marie interviewed and hired me as a teacher at my first school P.S. 67. She was a great leader and mentor. When I think of her, I think of sunshine. Her smile brightened the lives of all who knew her and worked with her. She had such energy and intelligence. Her drive and compassion for motivating children to excel were inspiring. She certainly was a hands-on administrator. You will be forever missed, Marie!

Dear Jasmine,Santana, Mom and Family,
Marie, or Ma’ree as I called her was my friend and confidant. We arrived at P.67, just a few days apart, and as new AP’s we literally bonded together. Marie taught me so much. I watched as she bonded with the teachers on her grades. She hung out with them. She celebrated their highs and lows.
Most AP’s dreaded the rainy cold months with upper grade lunch duty, not us. She would split the grades, and alternate between which classes learned the electric slide or saw the boring movie. The mandated retreats always had a little something extra, like wear your favorite jeans or an impromptu potluck lunch. We would have our annual literacy day parade, and she came as the scarecrow with straw, and I was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. She was always and foremost about her children, as that was what she called the students. They were the most important thing to her. She would meet with the students, parents or whomever just to move the child forward, and she was not afraid to go up to their homes. Fearless is what she was. It always brought her great joy to see her students come back and look for her, to share their successes.
My last conversation with her was at the beginning of COVID-19 in March. She called me to ask if I had enough toilet paper, because I was her friend and she would send me a few rolls! Marie was the life of any party.
She will always remain in my memory. I treasure the times I had with her. She would often remind what we did was not just work...we did it for the Kidz!
Remain strong in the knowledge that she loved you.
Her legacy will her love, and dedication.

My favorite teacher at PS20 Brooklyn. You were so beautiful and down to earth. You made my 4th and 6th grade spectacular. The pizza party you let me have for my birthday in 4th grade was so much fun. My cousin couldn’t stop crushing on you but, you were married at that time Mrs. Lopez. I bought you a big jar of jelly beans for the holidays and, you always made sure you shared them with me. When I had you again for 6th grade I remember pouring sand in a classmates hair and, when you found out it was me you were so upset with me lol. I will always remember you for having the most beautifully designed nails, with a cup of coffee in your hand. I will remember you and love you forever Ms Munoz <3
