Obituary of Pauline Okraszewski
Pauline Okraszewski (nee Galonski), 92, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late William; loving mother of Helene De Grandis, Carol Okraszewski, John Okraszewski and the late Lois Okraszewski; cherished grandmother of 6 and devoted great-grandmother of 2.
Pauline was raised in New Brighton and graduated from Curtis High School. After her graduation, she was employed for the U.S. Government on Governor's Island during WWII, as a Clerk Typist. After marrying William, the family moved to Travis. She worked for the Board of Elections, was involved in the AARP. Pauline was also an officer in the Polish Roman Catholic Union. She was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan, and also enjoyed bowling, word search puzzles and playing cards. She never missed the Travis Fourth of July Parade and just loved to make Halloween special for the children with little gifts and treats.
Mrs. Okraszewski was a parishioner of St. Anthony's R.C. Church in Travis and enjoyed the community where she lived.
Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, 9:15 am. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to visit on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations the parish of St. Anthony of Padua.
