Obituary of Guiseppa Vitale

Guiseppa Vitale, 93, of Eltingville, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Girolamo (2009); loving mother of Luigi Vitale (Concetta), Caterina Gurrieri (Sal), Valentino Vitale, Vincenzo Vitale, Concetta Simari (Antonio), Franco Vitale (Cheryl), Diego Vitale (Hope), the late Paolo Vitale; cherished grandmother of 15; devoted great-grandmother of 19. She was predeceased by 3 siblings and survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Vitale was born in Palermo, Italy, in 1927, and emigrated to the United States in 1977. She was a proud homemaker who took care of her large family. Guiseppa was passionate about cleaning and cooking. Some of her specialties included Giovannella, and pasta with broccoli with pignoli nuts. Most of all she enjoyed her time spent with family and traveling to different locales to visit family there. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 12:00 pm, followed by interment in Ocean View Cemetery. Due to Covid, all visitors must wear masks, practice social distancing, and be mindful that a small wait to visit might exist due to capacity limitations.
