Ms. Ronnie goes down in history. She was a great second mom. If you needed a talented conversationalist for an early morning coffee run to Dunkin Donuts, Ms. Ronnie was the one to call. An avid Elvis fan she was. Ms. Ronnie's infamous call, "Cchhhrisss" will forever ring through the universe. When Ms. Ronnie reached her golden years, I would joke with her, put on my best Staten Island accent and yell, "Rooonnnie" in the same way. She would laugh and respond, "Joooooy". She was caring, fair, witty and a keen detective when she wanted info. Talk about a great sense of humor! When I called the house for Crig, Ms. Ronnie would see my name on the caller id. She'd answer the phone, "City morgue. You kill em, we chill em". It was our little joke that we shared nearly twenty years ago, and for twenty years thereafter, I'd periodically remind her of it. My favorite and last memories of Ronnie were the times when she would peek her head through Crig's bedroom door to see what we laughing about. Blue denim shirts made her face light up. Ronnie, thank you for the warm hugs, Dunkin runs, midnight car drives with Crig, and crazy jokes we shared. May you rock all the blue button down denim shirts and push the whitest brightest Corsica with Elvis riding in your passenger seat, and all with the blessings of God. Love you dearly.
