Obituary of Guillerma A. Gasmen

Guillerma A. Gasmen, 101, of New Springville, passed away peacefully at her home on December 31, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Anastacio; loving mother of Loreto Gasmen and his wife Carmelita, Edilberto Gasmen and his wife Emilia and the late Yolanda Gasmen; cherished grandmother of Patrick, Eugene, Jeremie, Edna, Edwin, Novie, Orlan, Silver, and Ferdinand; devoted great-grandmother of Jolie Mae, Julius, Paxton, Alex, Rheign, and Edan. She was predeceased by five siblings. Guillerma was born in 1919 in Marvacan, Philippines, and came to the United States in 1985, settling in Staten Island. She was a proud homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family. She loved smoking cigars and enjoyed crocheting. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, 1/4, departing time TBA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick's R.C. Church, followed by interment in Resurrection cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, 1/3, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Due to Covid, all visitors must wear masks, practice social distancing and be mindful that a small wait to visit might exist due to capacity limitations.
