On the anniversary of my dear friend and mentor passing I’d like to light a green candle to remind the family and friends that although his earthly physical body has transitioned the memory of Mr Richard Green lives on. I worked with Rich that tough guy from Harlem who cared about family, work and people. I want to thank the family for sharing him with us. We often spoke about our upbringing and held a close friendship. I even believe he let down that tough exterior a few times. You are truly missed my brother so January 1st every year will be a day to remember my friend Richard Green.

Richard Green was, if I can say, one cool cat but an even better spiritual brother. His love for Jehovah and his organization was apparent in the way he devoted time and attention to SMPWP as well as JCAH. We always knew we had a watchful eye upon us if bro Green was around. We miss our friend and brother and await fulfillment of Jehovah's promise of Paradise

My name is Nat Washington, I was shocked upon learning Richard had passed on to Glory! Green as I called him was my partner at Con Edison for more than 10 years! We worked together every day, Collections and Final Bills Dept.
We were as close as brothers, he was promoted, I retired in 2007 and we kinda lost touch.
I will forever cherish the memories we shared, good and bad.
My condolences to his wife and Family. Rest in Peace my Brother.

Dearest Sister Paula Green, please accept my condolences. Richard's mother married into my family when he was a little child. Although we lost contact almost fifty years ago, I will always remember him as my nephew.
Last year, I found myself, more and more, including Richard in my daily prayers. I pray that Almighty G-D is pleased with him, forgives his sins, accepts him into Paradise and comforts his family. Àmeen.

Brother Green was in so many ways a spiritual guide to me during my late teenage years/ early adult years. He had a serious exterior but deep down inside was a caring soul, trying to look out for his brothers and sisters. I am so grateful for the times, the conversations, and the guidance he provided to me when I needed it the most. To the family our sincere condolence. May he sleep in peace until we meet again.

Dearest Sister Paula Green and Family,
I grew up in Harlem with Richard and his family living next door, so although we were cousins, we felt more like siblings.
I moved to Alaska in 1978 and after some years of keeping in touch, Richard and I lost contact. I will always remember my big cousin looking out for me and my siblings and his. The best thing I remember is his smile and laugh.
I am so proud to read about his service to Jehovah and love of family and community.
I know he will be missed by all who knew him.
Love from his Cousin in Alaska,
Vivica

My heartfelt sympathy goes to Brother Green's family. He was a very kind Brother. I was privileged to work with him in the field ministry. He was the Key Man on many of the SMPWP sites.
He showed genuine love and concern for the friends. Soon his family and friends will reunite with him at the Resurrection.

Richard Green was a true friend and brother
He was a support and father to young ones and had a soft spot for them
His family was one of the first ones at the meeting every week. Whenever he had to say something, it was said because he cared. We will miss him very much.
Our heartfelt condolences to the family.

Brother Green and I grew up in the same neighborhood in Harlem. So every Thursday when we would work at the Jersey City Assembly Hall we would walk down memory lane in our old neighborhood. Spending time with Brothet Green was like going home to Harlem every week. I am going to miss him terribly until his resurrection in God's new earthly paradise.
Who knows maybe our families will be assign to work to make Harlem beautiful. I think that assignment will make Brother Green very happy.

Br. Green was always concerned for the sisters on SMPWP, he'd always be ready to open up the cart room if no one had a key. And if there wasn't a brother on the shift he'd leave the
Assembly Hall to check on us. We knew he was concerned for our safety so we always felt safe. His love for Jehovah and His people was evident in the way he treated us. He will be severly missed by all.
