Obituary of Joan A. Baronick

Joan Ann Baronick (nee Salvio),Joni as many knew her, age 75, passed away on January 8, 2021, after a difficult battle with Covid-19. Joan was born in Brooklyn on April 9, 1945, and was met in heaven by her parents the late Albert and Anna Salvio. She was the manager at the Fountains and worked in real estate and private sanitation. Joan cared deeply for her family and served as a role model for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by the love of her life of 60 years and teenage sweetheart, Michael, her adoring Aunt Liz, her beloved children Tracey and Michael, son-in-law Michael and daughter-in-law Kelly, grandchildren Thomas, Nicole, Mikey and his wife Katie, Anthony, Dylan and Michael and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her in-laws Michael and Gloria, her sister-in-law Patricia and son-in-law Thomas. Joan was passionate about politics and was never shy to share her beliefs. She had a love for shopping and could always be found perusing Macy's. She was an avid reader and storyteller. She loved her IPad for games and to navigate social media but most of all so she could FaceTime her grandchildren and grand-dogs. She was always the life of the party and loved to dance. She also loved supporting her favorite charities, Shriners Children's Hospital and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She was the best wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, niece, aunt and friend to everyone in her life, and will be missed dearly. Services are Tuesday January 12, 2021 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Matthew Funeral Home Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. Funeral Mass will be held in Our Lady of Pity on Wednesday January 13, 2021 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
