We’ll miss you Mama. You had many,many friends on Prospect Avenue that adored you and also miss your warm and genuinely warm greeting. My most favorite memory of you was the way you laughed and enjoyed watching me run up and down the block trying to teach my daughter Liana how to ride a bicycle. You taught me such a beautiful lesson that day....to not get frustrated but to enjoy the moment.

I’ll never forget the day I moved into the apartment, I was hungry from moving, and Maria was at the bottom of the stairs with a plate of steaming rigatoni. Maria was like a mother to me, for over fifteen years, and was with me for major phases in my life. She will forever be remembered and missed. She was a great woman and we were blessed to have known her. Maria, we finally had a child, after all your urging. His name is Aidan and I will tell him many stories about you. We love you Maria.
