Obituary of Anna Rusolo
Anna Rusolo, (nee Di Michele), age 78, and her husband Cono Rusolo, age 81, of Manchester, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2017 and December 29, 2017 respectively. They were the cherished parents of Deborah Rusolo, Lisa Rocco and her husband Anthony. The proud grandparents of Jennifer Rocco-Alzate and her husband Bryan and Christopher Rocco.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Anna and Cono eventually moved to Staten Island to raise their family. For many years, Cono coached various womens SI and NYC based softball teams and as a result he acquired many additional "daughters" who he and Anna dearly loved. In retirement, Anna enjoyed reading and building her miniature homes, while Cono enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and watching his beloved New York Mets.
Survivors include Anna's sisters Maria Ortega and her husband Luis, Lena Testagrose , her brother Dominick Di Michele and his wife Mary, brother-in-law John Damato and sister-in-law Jeanette Di Michele. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Maria and Antonio Di Michele, she was preceded in death by siblings James Di Michele, Carmella Kopczyk and her husband John, Christina Coppola and her husband Louis, Anthony Di Michele and his wife Agnes, Jenny Aliotta and her husband Thomas, Helen Damato, Josephine Di Michele and brother-in-law Frank Testagrose.
Survivors of Cono include his sister, Nancy Pitti, her son Nat Pitti and his wife Christine and 2 nieces and a nephew. In addition, to his parents, Lucy and Joseph, Cono was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony and his brother-in-law, Pete Pitti.
Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Saturday, January 6th. Funeral service will be celebrated at Matthew Funeral Home at 10 AM on Saturday. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery at 11:15 AM. Family and friends are asked to visit on Friday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM.
