Obituary of Antonino Caldarella
Antonino Caldarella, 86, of Matawan, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Luisa (2006); loving father of Giovanna Caldarella, Maria Caldarella and her wife Debra Trapanotto, Luisa Figlia, Emanuele Figlia, and Paul Figlia; cherished grandfather of Jessie Nunez, Amanda Nunez, Danielle Nunez, Jamie Nunez, Andrea Nunez, Ava Jackson, Austin Mendelsohn, Emily Mendelsohn, Molly Mendelsohn, Julia Caldarella, and Juliana Trapanotto; dear brother of Rosaria Caldarella, and the late Ignazio Caldarella and Francesco Caldarella. He was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Caldarella was born in Godrano, Sicily, Italy in 1934 and emigrated to the United States in 1963, settling in Brooklyn. For over thirty years, Antonino owned and operated Jenny's Pizzeria in Brooklyn, and prior to that he owned Sal and Tony's Pizzeria in the East Village. Antonino loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.

Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 11:30 am at the funeral home, followed by entombment in Clover Leaf Cemetery, in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
