Obituary of Donna M. McHale

Donna M. McHale (nee Filfli), 70, of Huguenot, passed away on March 19, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late James McHale for 50 years; loving mother of James McHale and his wife Elena, and Renee McHale; cherished grandmother of Maci-James; dear sister of the late Michael Muncaster; devoted aunt of Michael Muncaster. Donna was born and raised in Brooklyn and graduated from Fort Hamilton High School. For many years she was employed as a School Secretary with the New York City Board of Education, starting with Bushwick High School and later with Susan Wagner High School, where she made many dear friends over the years. Some of her hobbies included reading, trips to Atlantic City. Later in life she tried some new adventurous things such as swimming with the dolphins, and Parasailing on her 60th birthday. Donna was a very gentle, kind, soft-spoken woman who made so many close friends throughout the years. She thoroughly enjoyed times spent with her loving family. Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. Due to Covid, all visitors must wear masks, practice social distancing, and be mindful that a small wait time to visit might exist due to current capacity limitations.
