I was stationed at U-Tapao Air Field in Thailand with Big Al. We shared a hooch on the B-52 flight line. Clearly, he was the coolest guy I ever met and we hung out together as great buddies. After my discharge from the Air Force I married my college sweetheart then named our son after Alphonso, Big Al. I still tell my friends about him and smile every time I think of him. Now I am 76 years old, retired, old, fat and bald. I’ll never forget Big Al!!

Mr Al..... I love and miss you. The time we shared together may have been short, but you left a hole in my heart now that you're gone. I miss our daily lunches together catching up on baseball, and chatting.....you were kind and special to me. Im glad to have met you, and hope you are at peace now. you were a Father Figure, and a special friend for the short time we had together......I miss you Mr Al...Love you... Johnny....
