Obituary of Mariamma Joseph
Mariamma Joseph was born on August 2nd, 1940 to the late Mr. Varghese Pappy and Mrs. Annamma Pappy in Elampal, Kerala, India. She was the eldest of her eight siblings. She immigrated to the United States in April of 1987, and settled in Staten Island, New York.
She was a loving wife to her husband, Joseph D'Cruz of Roadvilla House, Keralapuram, Kollam, whom she was married to for 64 years. She was a caring mother to her six children and grandmother to her fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She treasured her grandchildren and great grandchildren all immensely and embraced every moment with them. She always found a way to make people around her laugh. The affection she showed her family was immeasurable and yet, she always had more love to extend to others.
The overwhelming compassion she had for others touched the hearts of many. Mariamma's smile brought solitude and warmth to all in her presence. Her hospitality and love were always in great abundance, radiating wherever she went. Throughout her life, she conveyed the character of purity while always thinking of others before herself.
Her life was a living example of her favorite bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 - "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.
" Our family is deeply grateful for the love and support of so many who have been with us throughout this difficult time. It is our belief that she is home with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and has been reunited with loved ones who have gone before us. May the love she showered amongst all her family and friends continue to radiate in our hearts.
