Obituary of Karl A. Pospischil
Karl A. Pospischil, age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 5th, 2021, at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel. Karl was born in Yugoslavia on February 19th, 1942, the son of the late Ernest and Ida (Knaus) Pospishil. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Alice (Malone) Pospischil, in 2007, after 44 years of marriage.
Karl will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to keep busy and was an extremely hard worker. He worked for Prudential Insurance for several years until beginning his private taxi service. Many in the community knew Karl as the ‘Uber before Uber’ who loved sparking conversation with his passengers. He was a devout Catholic and spent his Sundays attending religious services. Karl was also an avid sports fan who kept up with his favorite teams, including the Giants, the Mets, and the Rangers.
Karl is survived by his three daughters, Suzanne (Thomas) Crimmins, Michelle Hosking, Kathy (Matthew) Slaven, and his one son, Mark (Pamela) Pospischil. He was also a loving grandfather to 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way. He was a dear brother to his seven siblings: Ernest, Ingrid, Erna, Joseph, Margaret, Tony, and Frank.
Mass will be held Wednesday, May 19th at St. Rita’s RC Church at 11:30 AM. Karl will be buried at St. Peter’s Cemetery directly after mass.
