Obituary of Beverly L. Long

Beverly L. Long (nee Anderson) October 18, 1941 – August 29, 2021 With heavy hearts we acknowledge the passing of our devoted mother, nana, sister, aunt, and soon to be great-grandmother. She was a lifelong Staten Islander and enjoyed many summers in Cape May, NJ, with her family. Her favorite pastime was shopping, never missing a bargain. She worked for Dow Jones in the World Trade Center until her retirement in 2001, when she was fortunate enough to survive September 11th. After retirement she found great joy in babysitting for friends who became family. She was predeceased by her first husband James Wheeler Jr., son James Wheeler III, her second husband Robert Long, and her sister Carolyn Kiplock. She is survived by her son Russell (Lisa), daughters Suzanne (Liz), and Wendy, as well as grandchildren Lauren (Mike), Russel and Brittany (Davon), brother Russell and many nieces and nephews. Our mom and nana was the most self-less, dedicated, kind-hearted soul who always put others before herself. She will be forever loved, always missed, and never forgotten. A memorial visitation will be held at Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Sunday, 9/12, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
