Obituary of John J. Baek

John J. Baek, age 57, passed away at home on September 9, 2021 from natural causes. He was the devoted son of the late Chung Haeng Baek and Su Man Baek. He is survived by his beloved son James, James’s mother Mi Kuk, and sister Sally Baek. John received a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and a law degree from New York University. After graduating, he worked at a law firm before venturing out on his own to help clients in commercial and criminal cases. He was a hard worker and represented his clients with dedication. John enjoyed being with people, and he embraced his Korea heritage including its history, cuisine, and dramas. John took great pleasure and pride in his son James and all of his accomplishments. He was a loving and kind man who will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those who knew him. Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Saturday, 9/18, from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. A service is scheduled at 9:30 am in the funeral home, with interment to follow in Moravian Cemetery.
