So very sorry to hear of John passing he was a wonderful good hearted loving person and will be missed. I always felt the love and at home in the deli knowing our beloved Ed went there every morning for coffee. We were wondering about him this year for the 9/11 commemoration. My deepest condolences from our family to yours we will miss seeing him and daughters.

John and his entire family will always be remembered fondly for the help they provided to the men and women of the construction trades working in and around Ground Zero. My own, Carpenters local 608 being one of those trades.
He was rock solid and one of the best.

In 2011 came to the World Trade Center and this is where I met John or Johnny as we called him. John was nothing but a true gentleman to me as I learned my way around Essex World Cafe. John would hug and kiss me on the cheek often. I will truly miss our sports conversation about the Yankees and the Knicks. However, what I will miss the most is the warm and gentle smile of an extraordinary man who became a father figure to me. I love you with all my heart John and may you rest in the arms of the Lord. Forever your Police son. You will be miss!!!!
Love Always
