Obituary of Marie J. DeFilippi

Marie DeFilippi, 84, passed away on October 29, 2021. Marie was the beloved wife of the late Patsy DeFilippi, loving mother of Maria Broecker, her husband Stephen , Elizabeth Paramonte, her husband Dominick, and Patricia Contrabasso, her husband Christopher. Marie was the devoted grandmother of the late Steven Broecker, Nicole Broecker, Kristen Broecker, Dominick Paramonte, Michelle Paramonte, Melissa Paramonte, James Contrabasso and Katarina Contrabasso. She was the dear sister of Fran Miraglia, the late Melchiore Cucchiara and Salvatore Cucchiara. Also survived by loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Marie was born and raised in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. She later resided in Annadale, Staten Island, where she lived most of her life. Marie attended Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, and later Manhattan, to become a proofreader, model, and saleswoman. Marie spent most of her life as a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking. Marie loved vacationing in Atlantic City. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday, departing at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Child R.C. Church at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in Ocean View Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
