Obituary of Dorothy Schembari

Dorothy Schembari (nee Costello), age 72, passed away on February 4, 2018 at home. She was the beloved wife of Emmanuel Schembari, loving mother of Emmanuel Schembari, Jr., fond sister of the late Nick Costello and Paul Costello. Dorothy was born in Brooklyn on June 23, 1945 and was raised in the Dyker Heights neighborhood, graduating from New Utrecht High School. She relocated to Staten Island approximately 55 years ago, settling in Westerleigh. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed outings with them. Occasionally, she also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City . In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to them in her memory. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Thursday at 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R. C. Church at 10 am. Interment to follow in Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm.
