Joseph saved me from a suspension . In 1992 I was out sick with a back injury. A Lieutenant wanted me suspended and punished severely. SGT. Joseph Crocitto spent numerous hours on the phone talking the Lieutenant out of suspending me. I only knew Joseph in passing, but it’s my situation that is testament of Joseph’s concern for everyone. Rest in Peace Sergeant Crocitto!

My condolences and prayers to the family. I Praise God, for Joe's loyal and loving friendship to me, for over 20 years. He was the kindest and most caring person I knew; he was a true blessing to everyone. Thankfully, he is no longer suffering; and surely happy to now be reunited with his mother again. May his precious soul, Rest-in-Peace.

Joe was the most important person in my life. He was more than my best friend for almost 55 years. I met Joe through my brother John, while Joe was involved with the "PAL" Youth program, in New York city. Back then, I was 15 years old. Joe & his Mom Marie became our family. Joe was like a father to my sons and a second son to my Mom. He will be miss so much. Our heart is broken and deeply felt.
Joe was a very Special person! A remarkable man, who had a heart of GOLD, he was caring, funny, helpful, a hero, a loving guy and an Angel. Joe was my angel and my love, my "3912".
My thoughts and prayers are with Richie and Joe's Cousin Donna. My deepest Sympathy. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me for anything, at any time. Love Yolanda

Deepest condolences to the Crocitto Family and Friends. I worked with Joe at the 24th Pct when we were young Patrolmen. Joe was known as a very sharp cop. He was well-liked by all of his peers, and I must admit he was the best dressed officer in the command. I had the honor of communicating with Joe about a week before he passed, and he really appreciated all the kind words of support from his friends and former coworkers.
Joe, may you now Rest in Peace.

I had the honor of working with Joe, in the Police Science Department, at the Police Academy. He was a good man! He made work a joy. I loved the way he answered the phone, in the office. He would slap the handset, on the wire side, catch it and say, “Home of the brave, one of the hero’s speaking.” To this day it brings a smile to my face. I hope they have old phones in heaven! You could not help but love Joe! Sincere condolences to his family. Frank Tiscione
