Phil was a great friend and valued colleague at ISO. He was ordained as a Deacon at the same time as my Uncle Charlie.
His was a life well-lived, in which he demonstrated great devotion to God and country, including his honorable service in the United States Air Force. He has a very good, dry sense of humor and he loved his wonderful family. He strived greatly to make life better for his fellow man.
May he rest in peace and may God reward him for his good work in this life.
Sincerely,
Gerard Wendelken

Philip is my first cousin and growing up we spent many hours together on the beach at Coney Island. He was always a gentle soul and a master prankster. He will bring joy to his new world.

“May God bless Phil's soul and keep him safe in His care, and provide us all peace and strength to face these testing times ahead. He was a great person and a great colleague. Words seem inadequate to express the sadness at the loss of my dear friend. I pray for his noble soul to find eternal peace in the Heavens above. Amen.”

Chicago and New York are far apart, but I give thanks for my co-worker, Phil, and the times we met and he shared ... his business knowledge, his Christian mission, and in general, his love of life (and Chinese food). The obituary details gave me a big smile remembering Phil. My condolences to the family.

While I know Phil is with God and his suffering is over, I cannot express how much I will miss him. Phil had a significant impact on my life beginning when I worked with him at Kemper Insurance (my first "true" job), watching him study to become a Deacon and through his baptizing my 2 youngest boys, participating in funeral masses for my in-laws and, his being at my dad's side when he passed. I never forgot, and never will forget, what Phil meant to me and my family. Phil always tried to do the right thing and truly cared for all those with whom he came into contact. I will keep you in my prayers, Phil as well as Kathy, Jimmy and Phil. Until we meet again....
