Obituary of John J. Luca

John J. Luca, Sr., 86, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Grace Luca. They would have been married for 63 years. Loving father of John Luca, Jr. and his wife Maria and Debi Luca and her significant partner Keith Goss. Dear brother of Irene (Lucky), Sadie, Florence, Theresa and the late Gerald. Also survived by his grandchildren: Ryan, Paul, William, Nicolette and Robert.

John was born in Brooklyn and lived there until 1966, when he relocated to Granitville, Staten Island. He was a manager at Electrolux Corp., Bayside, NY, for approximately 51 years. He retired in 2008 and was an avid vacationer. He enjoyed playing cards with friends, dining out with his wife, family & friends. He served in the US Army as a PFC from 1951 to 1953.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to American Parkinson's Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305 in memory of John J. Luca, Sr.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, departing at 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family RC Church at 10 am. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 7 to 9 pm and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
