Obituary of Sandra E. Griffin

Sandra Evonne Curley Griffin, 84, of New Springville, passed away at her home on January 31, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. She was the beloved wife of Ross A. Griffin and loving mother of Royal, Darrell (deceased), Ronald (deceased), Robin, Gregory, Marcus and Elysa. Born and raised in New Jersey, Sandra met the love of her life, Ross, and raised their children in Brownsville, Brooklyn before relocating to Staten Island. Sandy was a devoted wife and mother. She and Ross opened their homes and heart to foster several children over the years. Sandy’s love for helping children extended to her establishing a career in childcare. She returned to school earning her Associates degree in Child Education and worked as a Para for the New York City School System before her retirement. Before her beloved Ross passed away, they enjoyed traveling, throwing family BBQs and spending time with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sandy also loved spending time with her friends at the Todt Hill Friendship Club. Sandra was known for her honesty and was always supportive of her loved ones. Her sparkling blue eyes and her beautiful smile could light up a room and warm your heart. She will be missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind her surviving sons, Royal, Robin, Greg, and Marcus; her daughter Elysa; daughters in law, Pat, Joanne, Debbie, Carol, Josie and Dru; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
