Obituary of Philip M. Giallanza
Philip Giallanza Jr, son of Maria and Philip Giallanza Sr was born on April 27, 1988, in Brooklyn NY. Growing up he was best known as "little guy". He was the middle child of 3, with his older brother Steven and younger sister Lexie.
He spent his early years growing up in Old Mill Basin, his Grandparents Lorraine and Philip lived downstairs and played an intricate role on his upbringing. He had a very close relationship with his Grandmother, they had a inseparable bound. His father would best describe Phil as a "ball buster" as he could be mishevious but also absolutely adorable little boy.
In 1994, they moved to Staten Island when he was 6 years old. He was a natural with every sport he played and eventually his love with hockey set him apart from everyone else. He played hockey for 12 years, he played for the New Jersey Titans for 7 years and won multiple MVP's.
Everyone always gravitated towards Phil as he was known as the life of the party with his infectious laugh and cheerful personality. He was always surrounded by lots of friends and family and was loved by all. As an adult he found a career in construction, and showed great passion and expertise in tiling. He proved himself in the industry and showed great craftsmanship in every project he did. He eventually started his own company and developed the name PMG Home Improvements. He met his wife Michelle in 2016, and it was love at first sight. One year later the two were blessed with their first born Giuliana Lynn Giallanza. Few years later they had another baby girl, Mia. Fatherhood came natural to Phil, and adored his beautiful girls.
On February 2nd 2022, Phil passed away at 33 years old in their home in Annadale, Staten Island. He is survived by his parents, Maria and Phil Giallanza Sr, his wife Michelle, two daughters Giuliana and Mia, sister Lexie, brother Steven, sister-in-law Jessica, nieces Alexandria & Charlotte, God son and nephew Lorenzo and his Grandfather Francesco Campanile.
Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. on Saturday, 2/5/2022, departing at 8:45 AM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Clare's R.C. Church at 9:45 AM. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Friday, 2/4/2022, from 3:00 to 9:00 PM.
