Obituary of Stephen M. Barone

Stephen Mario (Steven) Barone, 69 years, of Staten Island, New York, passed away suddenly on March 30th, 2022. He was the beloved eldest brother of; John, Mario, Anthony, Edward, Janet and Jennifer. He was a loving Uncle to Tatiana, Jennifer-Lynn, Jessica-Lynn, Anthony, Skylar, Kassandra, Michael, Taylor, Brianna, Andrew and Vincent. Steve (as his family knew him) was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. The eldest of seven siblings, Steven was the family trailblazer who was influential to his brothers, sisters and loved ones. He met challenges head on and showed courage, fearlessness and triumphed over obstacles in our family life growing up. After his father passed, he carried the torch with unbounded perseverance. He was a brilliant mind who taught himself the French language and spoke it fluently. Steven was the Valedictorian & Commencement Speaker of his graduating college class and was awarded a full scholarship to American University in Washington DC. However, his life took an unfortunate turn with mental health challenges that he struggled with throughout his life. He was able to rebound and complete his college degree and graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. His achievements encouraged his brothers and sisters to graduate High School, and College. Steven Barone was highly intelligent, and his perseverance and inspiration were the gifts he left as his legacy. We celebrate Stephen Barone's life. He is joined in Heavenly peace by his mother; Santina, his father John; nieces AnnMarie and Taylor and the many loved ones who have since left us. May he rest in eternal peace in everlasting paradise in the cradling embrace of God. Memorial Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Sunday, 4/10, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 3:00 pm.
