Obituary of Evelyn M. Ritchie

Evelyn Ritchie of Westerleigh, passed away on May 3rd, 2022. Born in Bay Ridge Brooklyn to Walter and Alice Luhmann, she was one of six children. Her life centered around her family. Evelyn met her husband Gordon where they worked together in downtown Brooklyn. She moved to Staten Island where her and Gordon raised a son & daughter, John and Joan. Their family expanded and grew to include their daughter in law Naomi and Son in Law Andres and grandchildren Andrea & Jonathan. Evelyn enjoyed an active life with her children, nieces and nephews. She would often take them row-boating in Cloves Lakes Park and weekly trips to the Staten Island Zoo. On summer days she would pack up the car and drive to Wolves Pond Park or South Beach. She loved family gatherings, vacationing in the Catskills and the Long Island Sound. Evelyn loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a patron of the arts and loved life.
