Obituary of John P. Krupa

John Paul Krupa, 82, of Bulls Head Staten Island, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on May 4, 2022, after a brief illness. Mr. Krupa, was born in Brooklyn on January 3, 1940, where he was raised by Patricia Sophie Krupa (née Janiak) and Paul Carl Krupa. He attended and graduated from Brooklyn Tech. He began his career as a typewriter repairman. He furthered his education and became a licensed electrician as well as an HVAC specialist. He worked for the New York City Transit Authority and was the CEO and President of Superior Central Air Systems until his retirement. He was a lifelong student and excelled at many trades and professions. His passions and interests were vast, from high performance cars, to body building, and even to space travel. In his retirement, he studied photography, which quickly became his evocation, starting a second career founding Elegant Pictorial Essays. His passion for learning and knowledge was evident in his conversations. He was a student of many disciplines, including science, electronics, engineering, wellness programs, photography, mathematics, astronomy, astrology, theology, and history. He was an extremely intelligent and talented man and was often the "go to" resource for many family members and friends on a wide variety of topics, often doing handiwork and fixing things free-of-charge. He was always willing to lend a hand and impart his vast knowledge to help others. He was predeceased by his brothers Paul and Raymond Krupa. He is survived by his loving and adoring wife of 62 years, Nancy Krupa (née Quiles Pagan). Additionally, he is survived by 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. They include his sons and daughters: John Vincent Krupa of Staten Island NY, Suzanne Krupa and spouse Joann Glussich of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Michelle R. Krupa of Manhattan, Kenneth A. Krupa and his wife Yvette of Colts Neck, NJ, and Nannette Krupa and her husband Mark Cremona of Smithfield, KY. His grandchildren include: John Anthony, Nikkolas (Josephine), Taylor Ann, Matthew, Ryan, CJ, Derick (Jessica), Steven, Owen, NancyAna, Madeleine, Gabriel, and great grand-daughter Scarlett. He will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in John's memory. Viewing will take place at Matthew Funeral Home on Tuesday, 5/10/2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, 5/10/2022 at 7:00 PM. A private cremation will follow. On Friday, 5/13/2022 an Inurnment will take place at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ at 10:30 AM.
