Obituary of James Kissinger
James Kissinger, 72 of Randall Manor, Staten Island, New York passed away peacefully on May 7th, 2022 after a long illness. He was born in Staten Island and lived in New Dorp with his parents, Genevieve and Jacob Kissinger. He was diagnosed with Autism at an early age and he resided in Willowbrook and became one of the first group of Special Needs people to live in a Group Home located on Tysen Street in Staten Island.
He had an excellent memory and loved music. If he heard a song from the 50's and 60's, he was able to identify the name of the song, who performed it and the year it came out. He had a pleasant singing voice and he was a member of the choir in his younger years. He was very outgoing and had a kind and pleasant nature. He was the type of guy who would want to shake your hand the minute he met you. During the time he was sick, I was told by doctors and other
medical staff how friendly and nice he was.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Genevieve Kissinger. He is survived by his sisters Jeanne Flannery and Claire Kissinger and his brother Robert Kissinger. Additionally, he is survived by his brother-in-law Robert Flannery and sister-in-law Diane Kissinger. He has a niece Laura Smith and spouse Brett Smith and nephew James Kissinger. Theextended family and friends he had who loved and took care of him will miss him greatly.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in James' memory.
