SFC Thomas Ferramosca for very many of us was many things. A friend and mentor. He was truly family for many of us. I doubt I would of had the career I had in the army if not Tom. Until fiddlers green my friend, my brother. You will remembered fondly...

SFC Thomas “Tommy Sr” Ferramosca was one of the first people I met when I came into the NYARNG off of active duty. He was a leader, a listener, a mentor, and a good man. His energy was contagious. His sense of humor, as well as his ability to be self deprecating, always lightened the mood when necessary. He always gave his all.
Thanks for the memories Tommy.
Rest In Peace.

Tom was a great member of the cav. Always smiling and ready to work hard. We were in the same tank at school in Idaho and Tom loved telling the story about how poorly I had done! I can hear his laugher as he would say how mad a got the instructor.
My prayers and condolences to Tom's family, he will be missed and always loved! To the Utmost!

Thomas Ferramosca was a wonderful person. A straight shooter, a very pragmatic individual; one of his many wonderful character traits. A remarkably intelligent and family oriented man. A workaholic, even as a retired American. One of the things Tom enjoyed doing was carpentry, and he was very good at it, too. Tom was always working around the house. I recall many summer days, year after year, as Tom would put asphalt down on the roof of his house; never mind the heat, never mind the inconvenience because it had to be done. Tom did not know the meaning of procrastination, it was simply not an option. Tom helped anyone in need, family or not. There is a beautiful picture of Tom with his only son in the National Guard. They're in front of a tank, fully uniformed, shaking hands. I have always been deeply moved by this picture because Tom did anything and everything for his family. At that time, his son was going through a rough time in his life, as most young men do. Tom was beyond responsible, he did more than most fathers would have done, he lead by example. Both father and son went through boot camp together. I ask, how many fathers would have done what Tom did? I lost my own father at a young age, and If he were alive, I would hope he would have been like Tom. I was honored to have this man walk me down the aisle when I married his son. I will miss him very, very much. Tom was one of a kind and I was privileged to know him and call him my father-in-law.
