Our Dear Uncle Andy,
Those we love can never
Be more than a thought apart,
for as long as there is memory,
they'll live on in the heart.
Prayers and long hugs from niece Jane and nephew George, and the grandchildren of sister Lydia Kagaoan and her husband Candido Barros.

From Cousin Joselito Kagaoan:
Uncle Andy had a lot in common with his late older brother (My Dad) Rolando. They both served with distinction as officers of the Philippine Navy and they ended their military careers early for the sake of their families. For my Dad, he joined the private sector to get better compensation without the hazards of combat duty. For Uncle Andy, he chose to join his family for better opportunities in the US over a promising Philippine Navy career. Both were avid chess players and during gatherings at our home in Quezon City and at Uncle Andy’s home in Cavite, there was always a chess set available for Uncle Andy and Dad Rolando to do their imitation of the world chess championship match between Fischer and Spassky. No one kept track of the results but I seem to recall that Uncle Andy got the better of Dad Rolando such that my Dad always requested for a last game which would not end until Uncle Andy would diplomatically let Dad win! During the mini-Kagaoan reunion with cousin Bingot and Roderick held in Toronto last July 1, we talked about planning a visit to Uncle Andy but before our plan could materialize, the good Lord had decided to call Uncle Andy Home. My wife (Cosette) and son (JR) console with Aunt Lina, their children and spouses and grand kids on the passing of Uncle Andy who was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather and uncle to the family.
