Obituary of Mary Singer
Mary Singer, 80, of Staten Island, passed away peacefully at Calvary with family by her side on August 2, 2022 after a long battle with liver disease. She was the beloved wife of Ronnie Singer for 58 wonderful years; loving mother of Ken Singer and his wife Donna, Denise and her husband James Saraceno, Michelle and her husband Mike Velardo, and was the cherished grandmother of 6 beautiful grandchildren that were the light of her life. Her grandchildren Ashley, Justin, Amanda, Ava, Olivia, and Luke will always remember Grandma Mary as a caring, generous, and thoughtful soul.
Mary was born on October 8, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York. She was just shy of celebrating 81 trips around the sun. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. She worked many years in banking. She was always great with numbers, counting other peoples’ money, saving hers, and balancing checkbooks in her sleep. She built amazing memories traveling and cruising, spending summers upstate New York, pulling the slots in Atlantic City, and spending winters in Florida. In her spare time she enjoyed reading novels, watching soap operas and mystery shows, reporting weather and traffic to her family, crocheting and playing mahjong with friends. She was a sweet woman with a sweet tooth who always had room for the desserts that she wasn’t supposed to have! Her many, delicious Thanksgiving recipes will live on forever! Mary was a selfless person whose family meant everything to her!
