Electra was a dear friend of ours, but she was friendly towards all and well-liked in our community. She was a great listener, whether at coffee hour or social events, and especially at Elios, a group for people experiencing illness and/or their caretakers. When I first became disabled, Electra sent me many Get Well cards with sweet wishes and prayers. I remember once long ago when she was hit by a car while she was crossing the street in the crosswalk, we visited her in the hospital and despite her obvious pain she was smiling and concerned for our comfort (“Do you have chairs?) She was always interested in hearing about our children and grandchildren, but especially about our son Stavros ( Steven) who has severe autism, asking for him, praying for him and hugging him when she did see him. Lately Electra would have to meet us at the doctor’s office (and she joked about that), accompanied by her faithful son, Peter, who helped her so much. She stayed close to her son, Bobby, his wife June and their children as well, over the miles from Chicago and England, visiting Chicago often and they visited her often as well. Always warm, pleasant and elegant with a great sense of humor! We will miss you so much, Electra! May your memory be eternal. ❤️with love from Susan and Dino and the Arvanites family.
