Obituary of Robert R. Zimmer

Robert Zimmer Jr., 40 of Staten Island, NY, passed away peacefully on December 7th, 2022. He grew up in West Brighton and then relocated to Howell, NJ in 2020. He was the beloved son of Anna Zimmer and Robert Zimmer Sr., and the beloved brother of Jessica and Michael Zimmer. He was also the beloved nephew of Lia and Mark Ravotto and Benjamin and Lisa Bruno. He was the loving cousin of Kathryn Ravotto, and beloved boyfriend of Dana. Mr. Zimmer was a lifelong Staten Island, born and raised in West Brighton. He worked as a master mechanic in his own automobile shop and had hands of gold. He had a great ability to build motors, transmissions and restore classic cars. He loved and enjoyed his 1969 Big Block Twin Turbo Camaro that he owned since he was a teenager. He had a very close relationship with his family and would do anything for those who needed him. He loved his girlfriend Dana and racing his Y2450F dirt bike at Englishtown, NY and Field of Dreams. “He had a great ability to throw a football 70 yards” said Michael Zimmer his brother. He enjoyed listening to Linkin Park and playing Final Fantasy. “My brother Robbie was the best brother anyone could ask for, his hands could fix anything, he could fabricate metal into great artwork and put things together without direction”, said his sister Jessica. We love you Robbie always. We know you are riding that YZ450F dirt bike up in heaven”.
