Obituary of Carol L. Festa

Carol Festa,77, of Staten Island passed away with family by her side on December 20, 2022. She is survived by her husband Philip Festa. She was the beloved daughter of the late Sarah Lee Smitherman and Fabio Gulli. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Gulli. She was the cherished mother to Rosanne Corsaro and Gerald Festa and daughter in law Marysia Festa along with son in law Victor Corsaro. She was a doting grandmother to Samantha, Christian and Alana Corsaro and Nicholas, Daniel and Christopher Festa. Carol spent her earlier years growing up in Brooklyn where she enjoyed playing sports, especially basketball. Her humor would light up any room and her constant smile will be remembered forever. Upon moving to Staten Island, she joined the adult choir at both St. Anthony's Church as well as St Rita's. She also owned a card store in her neighborhood. She became a para professional working for The Dept of Education for over 25 years retiring upon her seventieth birthday where she was given an elaborate party. Funeral from Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday departing 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St,Rita's RC Church, 281 Bradley Avenue, Staten Island NY at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Thursday, from 2:00 to 7:00 PM.
