Obituary of Andres Leonardo Almazo-Rivera

Andres Leonardo Almazo Rivera (Palita), 77, of West Brighton, was born on November 9, 1945. He sadly passed away peacefully on January 20, 2023, with his family by his side. Andres was a cherished and adored Husband of Luisa Espinoza, Father to Carlos Almazo, Reyna Almazo, Miguel Almazo, Rocio Almazo, Maria Almazo, Pedro Almazo, Ana Almazo, and Michelle Almazo. Grandfather to Tracy Alamzo, Carlos Jr. Almazo, Beba Rosas, Jake Rosas, Erick Almazo, Connor Almazo. And great grandfather to Ramel Almazo and Julian Almazo. And dearly beloved by his sisters and brothers. Andres was born in Zapotitlan Lagunas Oaxca, and then moved to Mexico City. Andres worked as a cook; he enjoyed cooking for his family. Andres married Luisa in 1967, they moved to New York with their children in 1994. Andres had a large extended family with nieces, nephews that he loved. His family, especially his grandchildren, were his immense joy and love. Andres enjoyed passing his time gardening, and he was a huge soccer fan of "Las Chivas". Andre's kind and gentle spirit will be missed by everyone. Family and Friends may visit on Monday, January 23, 2023, from 2pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm at Matthew Funeral Home; 2508 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Of. Mt. Carmel-St. Benedicta Church on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 10:30am with final resting place at St. Peter's Cemetery.
