Obituary of Juan B. Espinal

Juan Bautista Espinal, age 77, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023. He leaves behind his loving wife Carmen Rosa Espinal and his loving children from marriage Rafael B. Espinal, and Carmenliggia Espinal/ Troia as well as his other children Cristian A. Espinal, and Claudia Espinal. He was an amazing son to his late mother Maria Espinal. He was a beloved brother to Julia McKenzie, Mercedes Espinal and Margot Genao. He was an incredible father to all children and an amazing father-in-law to Michael Troia. Juan was born in San Jose de las Matas, Dominican Republic and raised in New York City. He was a hardworking man with many passions. He was a great friend to everyone around him. Juan's smile lit up an entire room and his personality shined like no other. He could always make you laugh and smile when he was around. He was a caring and compassionate man who loved deeply. Juan was very selfless and throughout his life always put others before himself. He valued family and everyone around him couldn't help but love him. Juan is dearly missed by his family, who holds him deeply in their hearts. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. The visitation will be held from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd, on Thursday, 2/09. Family and Friends may visit on Thursday 2/9 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. This is followed by a Burial Mass on Friday 2/10 at 10am, which will be celebrated at the Church of St. Rita. Interment to follow in Ocean-View Cemetery.
