Obituary of Cynthia E. Marlin

Obituary Cynthia E. Marlin Eighty-six years ago, on May 4, 1936, in San Nicolas Aruba, Dutch West Indies, a baby girl was born to William and Rosalie Milton, and they named her Cynthia. William and Rosalie were raising Cynthia and her seven brothers, Alvin, Neville, Edwin, Pedro, Kenneth, Dolphus, and Eric. In 1959 she met the love of her life George Marlin. George was searching for a better life for his family, so he moved to the United States in 1960. Soon after, he sent for his steadfast love, Cynthia, and the two were married on 10/26/1963. The couple were married for 46 years, and bore three children, Dean Marlin, Laverne Connerly (the late), and Michael Marlin, each with a unique relationship with her. Cynthia Marlin worked many years on Wall Street as a teletype operator for RCA Telecommunications and later became Verizon. She worked the 4 pm to midnight shift, while George would start his shift as a construction worker at 5 am. The couple worked very hard to care for their children. Every morning she made sure her children were ready for school, which consisted of reading Psalm verses from the bible. Education was a priority for her children. Cynthia enjoyed reading, watching TV, and cooking her famous baked chicken, rice, and peas, johnny cakes, and ox tails in her spare time. She enjoyed daily religious shows such as Joel Olsteen, The 700 Club, Robert Schuller, Oral Roberts, and her favorite of all time, Billy Graham. Her love for the Let's Make a Deal and the Price is Right television shows was a tradition. Cynthia never missed an episode, especially when her brother Edwin would stop by and check in on her. They both made it a tradition to watch the shows together. During the Easter season, she never missed The Ten Commandments movie. Cynthia passed away peacefully in her sleep at home with her family by her side on April 1, 2023. Cynthia Marlin has left to morn her brothers, Neville, Edwin, and Kenneth, son Dean Marlin & girlfriend Susan, son Michael Marlin; daughter-in-law Darlene Marlin and four grandchildren, Mariah Connerly, Mylene Marlin, Brittany Connerly, and James Connerly Jr. and a host of nieces and nephews which she loved dearly.
