Obituary of Mildred Grasso

Ms. Mildred "Millie" Grasso, died on April 26, 2023 at her home in Staten Island, New York surrounded by her children and her grandchildren. Ms. Grasso was daughter of the late William and Eleanor Murawaski and was born on October 15, 1939 in Staten Island, New York. Ms. Grasso had four siblings: Charles Murawksi, Robert Murawski, Jeanie Hansen, and Alice Murawksi, all of whom predeceased her. She attended Port Richmond High School. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Rocco Grasso in August of 1958. This union was blessed with five children. Rocco predeceased her in death in 1980. Ms. Grasso was an avid bowler, loved crocheting and sewing, and worked as a seamstress. Ms. Grasso was a proud mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren remember her as a woman of strength and independence. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Renee Grasso, Susan Nuzzo, Jennifer Dorso, Rocco Grasso, and the late Allison Granato. Mildred also has 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren: Nicole Nuzzo, Monica Nuzzo, Katelyn Nuzzo, Michael Nuzzo III, Rocco Grasso, Dana Dorso, Rebecca Dorso, Alyssa Lapetina, Elena Dorso, Kayley Grasso, Leo Chivaroli and Stella Chivaroli. Please join her loved ones in celebrating the life of this amazing woman at Matthews Funeral Home on April 28, 2023 from 4- 8 PM. The funeral service will be held at Holy Family Church on April 29, 2023 at 10:00 AM, followed by interment at St. Peter's Cemetery.
