Anthony Mason I want to convey my sincere condolences to the Loos family during this difficult time. I pray that his love, and kindness leaves an indelible imprint on your memory. Joe Loos was a man of integrity, and the amount of experience and knowledge the department has lost will be insurmountable. Joe was one of the most committed persons to getting the job done, that I have ever met. Joe was one of my mentors as I was promoted up the ranks. He was a someone that I could count on to give me clear honest direct advice. He was available no matter when I called him, and he would always end our call with “Whatever you need, call me”. He helped mold my mindset which I continue to practice to this day, “don’t make excuses… just figure it out”. Thank you, Joe, for everything. I am honored and grateful to have known you. My life has been enriched by your words. You will be deeply missed.

To the family of Joe Loos, My sincere condolences. I met Joe when I came to work for the Dept. over 16 years ago . His strong work ethic and dedication to the City of New York was admirable. My Deepest Condolences To Kathy And The Family.I Knew Joe For Over Thirty Years Starting As A Mechanic In The Landfill To Being My Boss Both As A Mechanic And As A Foreman At The Ciofe Shop.After Retiring For Over 10 Years I Always Called Joe And When He Transferred To The Boro Shop I Would Go And Visit Him On Occasion And We Would Talk About Old Times . He Always Told Me That I Can Call And Visit Him Anytime And That He Liked When We Talked And When I Went To Visit Him . He Always Made Time For Me No Matter How Busy He Was.Maybe I Didn’t Read Between The Lines About His Health But His Passing Came As A Real Shock To Me .I Know Joe Loved His Wife Kathy And Family And Had Great Times And Fond Memories At His Home In LBI .He Posted Some Of The Wonderful Memories On Facebook For All His Friends To Enjoy . I Just Spoke To Joe Not Too Long Ago And I Am Truly Saddened To Hear That He Passed Away. I’m I Going To Miss My Friend Joe And Every Time I Pass The Boro Shop I Will Be Thinking Of Him . God Bless You And Your Family And May You Rest In Peace Amen.

To Kathy and family, Susan and I are deeply saddened by the passing of Joe, my trusted high school friend and I shared so much I am broken hearted but will treasure all the the fond memories of Joe during that time. My heart felt condolences go out to Kathy and the whole Loos family. I was saddened to hear of his passing. He was not only my Boss at our time together at Cioffe boro shop, but a all around great guy and good friend. He will be very much missed. He actually had a hand in getting on the job with DSNY at BME as a Auto Mechanic. I really have a lot of great memories working with this great man. For now, RIP my friend and I hope one day we will see each other again on the other side. We have lost a good man way too soon !
