Obituary of Francis V. Vento
Francis “Frank” Vincent Vento, 41, of Staten Island passed away at home on Wednesday May 24, 2023. Devoted and loving father to Gavin Vento 13, beloved son to Richard Vento Sr. and the late Ann Vento, beloved brother to Richard Vento Jr. and sister-in-law Paola Vento, cherished uncle to Gabriella and Joseph Vento. Loved by the Gerecitano family Uncle Vincent, Aunt Linda, cousin Carrie Difilippo and family and cousin Elizabeth Brinn and family. Loved and cherished by his son’s mother Cheryl Vento.
Frank was born in Brooklyn, NY to Ann and Richard Vento on September 16, 1981, they later moved to Staten Island. Frank enjoyed playing street hockey as a teen with many neighborhood friends, he attended Tottenville High School playing football while making memories and many friends. Frank worked with many security companies, Gold Shield being the longest. Recently, Frank began a new security endeavor; to start his own company. Frank gained the most cherished title of father in 2009 starting a family with Cheryl Vento, they spent 10 years together with their loving son Gavin. Frank was a dedicated friend and was close to many people, always offering to help or an ear for listening. Frank loved to cook and prepared amazing dishes for big family holidays or small nights in with Gavin. Frank spent his spare time fishing and enjoyed being out on the boat in the sunshine. Frank loved watching the New York Rangers as hockey was his favorite sport, he loved discussing stats and players with other fans. Frank was loved and respected by many and will be deeply missed. Until we meet again.
Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. on Wednesday, 5/31/2023, a funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, 5/30/2023 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.
