Lolo Ding, I'll miss your daily chats.... He always send photos of his beloved princess Eva. He would make "chismis" and often remind me to take care of my health, to lose weight and all. Chatting with Lolo gave comfort and strength on tough days. That I still have someone to make "sumbong" to since Lolo Manolo, Lola Fe, and my parents already passed. He used to say, bilisan niyo na bumisita dito at tumatanda na ako. How I wanted to go there to take care of you Lolo. Maraming maraming salamat po sa lahat ng kwento, and for always checking if okay ba kami. I love you Lolo ❤️ Love your Dear Apo, Tara

Six decades and a year ago, I applied for a job at a shipping lines and there I met a handsome, dashing, mestizo-looking guy named Ding. We easily became friends, everyday doing all those things that young and carefree souls are bound to do. Together with other officemates and friends, we’ll spend the evenings going to places whiling away the happy hours over food and drinks, listening to requested songs most popular during those days.
But we oftentimes would sneak out and leave the group to jointly go to a ladies boarding house to woo and court Glo and her friend who both became our girlfriends and eventually our wives.
I was the first to marry though and Ding became the godfather of my first born child.
The responsibilities of bringing up our respective families made us go separate ways. Ding and Glo decided to migrate and we lost touch for sometime. But on my very first trip to America, the first persons I sought were Ding and Glo to renew our close ties.
My relationship with Ding has created a lot of memories too many to tell. Suffice it to say, Ding was a decent, warm-hearted and friendly soul. A good father, husband and family man.
Ding, I’m proud and privileged to be your compadre and friend. We have to part ways again but we shall meet again in the Great Beyond, heaven permitting.
Farewell and may you find rest and peace in the bosom of the Lord!

How will I remember Ding… As a brother-in-law, he was always supportive and non-judgmental. He was a very good son; very affectionate to his mother (Cyra) and was always available at her beck and call. He was also very loyal; Glo was his first and only love. He was also very proud of his growing family. When we had a chance to talk, he would always talk of his children and grandchildren. Ding had a happy nature and had a good sense of humor. Ding was a tribute to humanity. He will be missed, albeit, it is consoling to know that there is no way this beautiful soul can be anywhere but with Jesus henceforth. Ding, keep on smiling! Love you! Rose
